Paul Franke and Reinhold Heidecke founded Franke & Heidecke in Braunschweig in 1920. Their twin-lens Rolleiflex of 1929 was the leading medium-format camera for decades, and the tiny Rollei 35 of 1966 was one of the smallest full-frame cameras ever made.
