Ricoh
Founded 1936
Ricoh began in 1936 as Riken Kankōshi, making photosensitive paper. Its 1950 Ricohflex was a cheap twin-lens reflex that brought medium format to many amateurs in post-war Japan.
The GR line, from the 1996 GR1 film compact to today’s digital GR cameras, is a favourite of street photographers. Ricoh bought the Pentax camera business in 2011.
