Konica Minolta

Founded 2003 · left photography 2006

Konica Minolta was formed in 2003 when Konica and Minolta merged. It made the first digital SLR with sensor-shift stabilisation, the Maxxum 7D of 2004.

Squeezed by the fast move to digital, it announced in January 2006 that it would leave cameras and film. Its SLR business and the Minolta A-mount passed to Sony, which used them to start its own camera line.
