Giroux

Alphonse Giroux ran a Paris shop selling art supplies, furniture and luxury goods. In 1839 a contract with Louis Daguerre, a relative by marriage, made it the first company to sell a camera: the Giroux daguerreotype camera, sold as a complete kit.
